Dai (or DAI, formerly Sai or SAI) is a stablecoin cryptocurrency which aims to keep its value as close to one United States dollar (USD) as possible through an automated system of smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. Dai is maintained and regulated by MakerDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) composed of the owners of its governance token, MKR, who may vote on changes to certain parameters in its smart contracts in order to ensure the stability of Dai... In 2019, MakerDAO experienced internal struggle over whether it should integrate more with the traditional financial system. Christensen wanted greater regulatory compliance to allow for assets besides cryptocurrency to serve as collateral for Dai. The struggle led to the departure of MakerDAO's CTO. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dai_(cryptocurrency)

Robin Sloan pitches a "book to be adapted into a movie" starting Dwayne Johnson (TheRock). I am here to tell you the professional wrestler turned movie star Dwayne The Rock Johnson is going to be US president, but before that happens, we are going to make a book, to make a movie, to make a mind... We've both read plenty of novels where you can see the screenplay moving just under the skin. Our innovation will be our shamelessness, which will be total. Everyone will know exactly what's up, and because they know, buying this book will become a vote: YES, make this movie! And while you're at it: make this reality, too.

Ron Jeffries: Strawberries 8: Joy. On Twitter the past few days, my good Tweep Alex Bunardzic was commenting that his biggest career challenge has been “selling technical excellence”. It seemed to him that the issue for devs who wouldn’t buy in was that while it might be better later, it would involve hard work now in return for a promise of good things later. (more)
